In his keynote speech, former US President Donald Trump said, “I would like to express my gratitude to Reverend Hak Ja Han Moon, who has devoted herself more than anyone else to the realization of world peace, and I am grateful for the work she did with the late Reverend Sun Myung Moon to found the Washington Times, which defends religious freedom and truth in the United States and around the world.” He recalled that “I was proud to lead the way toward the realization of peace on the Korean Peninsula and in the world during my term as President, and I was able to abandon the mindset that had led to decades of failure and take an unprecedentedly hard-line approach diplomatically, militarily and economically.” He also expressed his regret by saying, “Four years ago, Chairman Kim Jong Un and I became the first leaders to meet in person and make the North Korea-US summit happen. Back then, we planted the seeds of peace and cooperation, and now it’s time to let them bloom and grow into giant trees. It would be a great tragedy to let this opportunity slip away.” Former President Trump then said, “In order for North Korea to actively cooperate, unify, and develop economically, there can be no nuclear threat, and for North Korea, denuclearization is not a serious danger but the greatest opportunity.” He also said, “We believe in the nobility of all life, that freedom of speech, expression, and assembly, and that religious freedom are the foundation of all freedom, and that all people are blessed with rights, liberties, and dignity bestowed not by governments but by Almighty God.” He expressed his support for peace on the Korean Peninsula, saying, “Please join us in our efforts and prayers for a Korean Peninsula that will achieve safety, prosperity, unity, and finally peace.”

The main event of the Korean Peninsula Peace Summit was hosted by Co-Executive Chair Yoon Young-ho, and included the entrance of the flag bearers, opening declaration, entrance of the leaders, an interfaith joint prayer service by 14 religious leaders from Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Confucianism, Anglicanism, Cheondogyo, and the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, a peace prayer by Rev. Paula White, Chair of the Trump administration's Evangelical Advisory Committee, a welcoming address by Co-Organizing Chair and former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the singing of the Peace Song, and congratulatory remarks by Busan Mayor Park Hyung-joon, South Jeolla Province Governor Kim Young-rok, Gwangju Metropolitan City Mayor Lee Yong-seop, North Jeolla Province Governor Song Ha-jin, South Chungcheong Province Governor Yang Seung-jo, North Chungcheong Province Governor Lee Si-jong, North Gyeongsang Province Governor Lee Cheol-woo, Seoul Metropolitan Council Speaker Kim In-ho, Busan Metropolitan City Council Speaker Shin Sang-hae, Gyeonggi Provincial Council Speaker Jang Hyun-kook, Gangwon Provincial Council Speaker Kwak Do-young, and North Chungcheong Provincial Council Speaker Park Moon-hee.
